When I first learned about NLP in the 1990s the emphasis was very much on learning and devlopment and even though the workshops were "entertaining" the focus was definately on development of the NLP skill set. In recent years I have noticed that there is a definate drift towards entertainment rather than learning, which IMO has not helped to position NLP as a credible set of tools. The internet abounds with claims from indviduals offering newer brighter NLP, often lumping in all manner of new age approaches which of course have nothing to do with real NLP. Fortunately there are still quality trainings out there and I set up
http://www.nlpmp3.com/ to provide a voice above the some of the craziness that frequents the newsgroups! Some of the smartest and best minds are still offering trainings and long may they do so!
